Hi there! It’s so lovely to meet you! I’m Dr. Nilda Perez, and I’m delighted you’re considering working with me as a therapist, coach, and strategic leader on your path to personal or professional growth and self-discovery.

I’ve struggled with the traditional “treatment” approach to behavioral health. What hasn’t made sense is the diagnosis and treatment modality, especially for clients who weren’t mentally ill. Instead, working with clients to help them set and reach goals and unlock their full potential is much more effective.

With 29 years of experience, I’ve dedicated myself to helping individuals, couples, and families unlock their full potential and achieve their goals. I have a genuine passion for facilitating positive transformations in the lives of those who are ready for change.

My approach is unique.

What sets my approach apart is the combination of therapy, coaching, and strategic leadership. Drawing from my master’s degree in clinical social work and my Doctor of Strategic Leadership specializing in Strategic Foresight, I bring a diverse skill set to create solutions for you.

My unconventional career trajectory, blending behavioral health, strategic leadership, and innovation, has benefitted my clients.

I strongly believe in the power of customization. Clients are unique, so I tailor the approach to their needs. By integrating Solution-Based Therapy (SBT) or Cognitive-Based Therapy (CBT) with coaching techniques, we will embark on a collaborative journey toward your self-actualization and effective emotional well-being management.

I’m genuinely excited about the opportunity to work with and support you on your journey. Let’s discover the incredible potential within you together!

In my Free time…

Creativity. I am a creative being. I believe that I add the flavor of creativity to everything I do including TheraCoaching. I am curious (ask why questions), which ignites my creative juices. Here are a few things I love to do in my spare time.

Cooking. I love to cook. I am a total cooking newbie. I learned how to cook during the pandemic when everything I ordered came cold, or they’d give me someone else’s order. Clearly it was time to learn how to cook. Since then, I have become obsessed with creating great meals. I find, share, and collect recipes only to dissect them and create something totally new.

Interior Design & Redesign. I enjoy redesigning. Just like an artist looks at a blank canvas and creates unique art. This is what I do with a redesign. I love finding old things and repurposing them. I always have a theme for each room in my home. I always look beyond what I have in my hand just to redesign or repurpose it and then place it in its perfect home.

The Beach. I am infatuated with the beach. I find such peace and so much joy just sitting by the water and hearing the sound of the ebb and flow of the water and kids playing. Everything at the beach sounds far away, no matter how close. There is such tranquility in this space, it fascinates me.

Boating. I enjoy boating. I have never owned a boat, but I am fascinated with the open sea and a good old boat. No matter the size, I just love being on a boat… it literally takes me away.

Walks. I love exploring and going for long walks, either alone or with someone whose company is special to me. This is my time to declutter and release any tension.

Fashion. I enjoy every aspect of fashion. Even things that are not my particular style, if it looks good on someone, I love it. I find fashion tells you a story about each individual. It is so personal and so authentic. I can people-watch all day, and my interest is in their fashion style.

Entertaining. Although I don’t entertain often, I really enjoy putting out a spread and sharing a good meal and drink with the people I love. I give attention to every aspect of entertaining, which always results in a great time for everyone.

Laughing. This may not be a hobby but for me, it’s the best time. I enjoy a good joke, a good belly laugh, and a great time. So, whether it’s a funny movie (and trust me, you don’t want me sitting next to you in the theater), or a good joke, or even making fun of the silly things I do – laughing is one of my favorite pastimes. As it says in Proverbs, a good laugh is the best medicine.

Reading. I have such an affection for reading, especially if it’s a good development book. It is learning that I have been enamored with since college. Weird that I hated reading in high school. But when I am learning something, I am in heaven. Just lately (about two years), I’ve gotten hooked on audio books (Audible.com), which means I am always reading. Some people like music when they’re cleaning or cooking. I love reading.

These are some of my favorite things to do. There are so many others, but these are at the top of my list.
